Presentation
The Integrated Environmental Education Studies Programme, commonly called the MINT-programme, was initiated by the Swedish government in 1992. The funding of the MINT-programme ended the last of December 2003. The Programme was a part of the Council for the Renewal of Higher Education (Rådet för högre utbildning). The Council is an independent subsection of the National Agency for Higher Education.
The MINT-programme was headed by a reference group, called the MINT-group, made up of teachers and students with administrative support from the Council secretariate.
Aims
The overriding aim of the MINT-programme was to support Swedish universities and their faculty in making environmental perspectives and issues of sustainable development an integrated part of the curriculum. For the most part this has been done in dialogue with the institutions and through project grants but also through seminars, conferences, this web site, national and international networking etc.
